We all have heard it is important to our health to drink water… But do you know why???
-Without water, our bodies could not function!
-Water regulates our body temperature which is why we need more when we are hot.
-Water helps remove waste and germs from our bodies. This is why when you are sick, the doctor tells you to drinks lots of water!
-Water is a much better choice then juice, sodas, etc. for kids since it has no sugar, calories, or chemicals which can cause tooth decay and fill up their stomachs making them less hungry for nutritious foods at meal times.
-More than half of our bodies are made up of water.
-Water helps carry oxygen in blood to our bodies.
-The most common cause of daytime fatigue is actually mild dehydration.
-Thirst is a very late sign of dehydration! This is why it is very important to drink water throughout the day and not just when you feel thirsty.
-A person can survive longer without food than without water!
But for many people, it can be very hard to drink enough water in a day!
